Hello Everyone.

For the last few days i'm organizing my list of keywords.
Ive already got the Healthy-living-wise.com Blog and i'm into getting a more specific subject for my main web-site.

The best thing is to have a 100% match...
so if i call my website different, because it has a different main keyword...what will be the effect on traffic and my results on the whole??

a second option is to keep the name of the website the same. For example Healthy-Living-Food and then come up with the more specific subjects i like to write about...

Any clear suggestions welcome!!!
and to help me sort this out in SBI Wink
thanks

I'd have done it the other way around. First the URL of your website and then the URL of your weblog. Anyway, I'd stay as close as possible. The keywords that you want to use for your T2 and T3 pages can be fixed in the names of you HTML of course.

Hi Gaja,

I specifically remember Nisandeh saying that you should NOT give your blog alsmost the same domain name because Google will know that one has to do with the other (same owner) and will not value the links as much.

That is why I chose a slightly different domain name for my blog because I could have easily picked the same domain name with 'blog' at the end.

So I do not think it will be a problem if you choose a different domain name for site.

Errr? PLease explain.
Domain is hosted on different host and has different name.

It's like " Hey attila don't register play-chess-game.com cause playchessgame.com already exists? " Am I right here? I don't think that it mater. Nisandeh, could you please explain what Tina is referring to?

What I won't do is to put both domains on the same server where already 45.977 others are hosted on and then linking to each other. That's a no-go as far as I know.

Thanks in advance,
Attila

I would also like some more clarity on the matter from Nisandeh but I suspect he already left to the States for the summer. Cool

I looked it up in my notes and it says

Quote:
You can buy a blog and immediately order a domain name. Do NOT use the exact domain name as your SBI site only with 'blog' at the end. Than you could just as well use the SBI blog.

That's why I took a slightly different domain name for my blog and was surprised to see a lot of others do exactly the opposite: using the exact same name as their SBI site.

Well, this is all very clarifying to me:-)
Anyway it helps me a lot to share this feeling of ignorance and just move on.
Well : Just "Stop doubting and ACT".

so see you after a weekend of having fun and creating, making challenges into adventures!

I want to clarify this.

I never said that, and if somehow it came across - this is a mistake.

There is no problem to give your different sites similar names.
That's not Google's problem. The only thing is that Google won't like you to interlink tens or hundreds of your sites together.
And to know that - Google doesn't look at the domain name - but on your IP address (mainly).

Hope that clarifies the issue!
