The Akismet anti spam is working perfect! No daily deleting of comments required and so it became pretty quiet in that area.
This morning I received the first REAL comments.
And a link to my blog saying this:
"I get dog food questions all the time that I can’t answer. I’m not a pet nutritionist and I simply don’t have the time to keep up on the foods you should or shouldn’t feed your pooch. But, this is an incredibly important aspect of your dog’s life and I have finally found a great resource for these questions. dog-food-blog.com is a fantastic site that deals with food issues and more. In particular, found on this page http://dog-food-blog.com/?p=60 is a wonderful e-book about keeping your dog healthy and happy."
Also:
"Barbara thank you! I simply love your blog and will be pointing every dog owner I know your way. I appreciate your academic approach to dealing with pet nutrition and for helping people realize that by feeding their dogs from puzzle toys, they will be happier, healthier and more calm dogs. On my blog, we have a section dedicated just to talking about these toys which we call work-to-eat toys. They are a great investment for any dog owner and I’m glad to see they are gaining popularity."
Which supports me in the tone-of-voice I took, which indeed is academic. This comes by nature but it was also a decision I made to distinguish my site from all those over the top black and white sites about dog food that are quite fanatic.
I'm so glad I registered to get licenced but now I have to manage until october. A few days ago another very specific dog food question came in. It took me about half a day to answer, called a pet shop, researched the net etc.
Now a legal question, gets more difficult every time:
"Hi Barbara. I just left a comment on one of your blog entries but I wanted to formally introduce myself. My name is Sterling Peake and I’m a trainer in Seattle. I want to start selling some fantastic, all-natural dog treats that I make online but I want to make sure they are perfectly safe for dogs. Is there anyway to talk to you about this more? I couldn’t find any information about regulations for selling dog treats online and I would love some guidance. I’m so pleased with what you’re doing and I look forward to reading your blog entries!"
Just sharing. I'm just happy that I'm seeing progress.
