Number 32 might not seem that high, but I'm happy with this result after about 5 months. When you search in google for Best Dog Food my site is (today) at number 32 (so officially non-existent) out of.... 128 million!!! Quite a lot of competitors. So yes... I'm happy.
And the blog is back at number 1 (when searching for Dog Food Blog). Main competitor is the person who tried to sell me a website for 25K the other day.
According to WordTracker 970 searches daily comprise the words Best Dog Food (225 for an exact match).
In contrast.... only 10 daily searches look for the word Dog Food Blog (5 for an exact match).
Made $21.47 from Google AdSense in 16 days.

What is your highest keyword-hit? If you go to traffic stats and click on this month for more details and then scroll all the way down, whats the first keyword on the keyword list with the highest hits?
I made 11,3 Dollar in the same ammount of days (16) from google adsense, with absolute unique visitors in this month so far 35. But if I check the unique visitors on a single day, it is somewhere between 45 and 68. Whats your current traffic stats?
I tried something out yesterday, I only got 3 clicks on my 1st tier page (normal rectangle in the left corner almost on top of the page) in the last 16 days, which I found a bit dissapointing with a CTR of only 1,50 or something. So I decided to change the look of the advertisement. I changed the color of the URL in the Normal rectangle ads from green to black. As to make it look more like in-page content as opposed to ads. When I checked just now, I had 3 clicks on it already, as compared to 3 clicks in the last 16 days. Not waterproof yet, have to keep track of how it goes. If it goes really well, I'll let you know and I'll edit my other pages to this as well.

EDIT: I see that on a your pages that contain the normal rectangle ad, you have the URL in grey or so? And another question, on how many of your pages have you got google ads now?

I started with the URL in black as I thought the default green was too obvious and I didn't like it. Later I switched to grey. In other formats of AdSense visitors don't see the URL at all so they would HAVE to click when they are curious and could not just type in the URL in the address field.
To answer your questions:
I have now AdSense on 5 pages. Visitors are fluctuating heavily this month which I think is because I haven't worked my site and blog as regularly as previous months. The last days it's 80-90. Top was 111 and bottom 48 this month.
The main keywords my site gets found at are (in order):
best dog food, dog food guide, dog digestion, top dog foods, top dog food, best pet food, best dog food brand
When looking for a domain name dog-food.com was already gone and a very good additional keyword at that time was to add 'best'.
Another thing I noticed in AdSense: I'm earning more dollars on the days that I DON'T look at the AdSense Report (only kidding, but it's true... so far ;-))
CTR is 1,50 you say, but I'm seeing a percentage. It's 10,97% on average (Click Through Rate).
The ECPM of the page, on average, is $ 19,95 (bottom $ 0,00 and top $ 58,52
How do your numbers (CTR and ECPM) compare? Have you looked into this as to what is a good number?

Your 10,97% is pretty high, compared to mine. Maybe because I have google adsense on 25 pages or so, in total I think around 50 ad blocks. So maybe compared to the number of pageviews, my ctr is very low. I wonder, what is your pageview amount and the other statistics, like I shared above?
Enlighten me, how can you earn 22$ in 16 days if you only got adsense on 5 pages? that's pretty neat I think.
So what's the reason for this do you think? Either you just get alot of clicks and alot of pageviews, or the moeny you get from a click is pretty high. I get between 5 and 90 cents a click. But more often around 20 than around 80.
And yes, if you don't check for your money, you'll receive more, I know the phenomenon :p.
So, afer seeing my google ads stats, do you have any suggestions to higher my CTR? Maybe it really was due to the green URL, cause like I said, once I changed it to black on the main page, I got 4 clikcs in one day as opposed to 3 clicks in 2 weeks with the green URL..

I have to dig into this as well Benthino. There is a lot of info out there with hints and tips on improving AdSense income. A lot of it has to do with focus on improving your click through rate (CTR) as there isn't anything you can do about the value of one click (as this relates to your subject).
Unique visitors yesterday was 110, so.. as I said.. it fluctuates.
As to how I earned $22 in 16 days... it was an experiment with AdSense and I put it only on the top 4 visited pages to start with.
As to your last question: it's very well possible that your CTR improved due to switching from green to black. You could try grey as well.
From such a small experiment you can't draw definitive conclusions really so it still can be a coincidence, but I would bet on black or grey.

Question: Why grey.. any specific reason?
If you set google adsense report on 'onbeperkt' it shows you all the mopney you made since you started adsense. Then the first part says somethinbg like: Page views, or: 'pagina weergaves'. This means how many times your ads have been viewd on your pages, not the clicks, just the views. I wonder how much of these views do you have, if you wish to share?

Good question, I haven't really checked again. I believe they have never submitted my article yet. I will revise my old ebook (written a year ago,55 pages) soon so I can send them to my newsetter subscribers, and I will also take some good pages from that and turn them into articles for distribution. Maybe then will I buy the upgrade and distribute 20 articles or so.
But I found that google is really the pimary source for traffic by far. By far.. So I try to focus more on creating more profitable key-word-pages.
