SBI HQ

Hi,

Just a moment ago i ask SB to build me a SE-report. And this is what i read on the site:

"Search Engine HQ for
wellness-stress-management.com

Submitting-to and tracking Search Engines ("SE") can be a major time-consumer. Thanks to SBI!'s WorldSubmitter (click here for more information on WorldSubmitter), the Search Engine HQ minimizes the time required. Click on the above for SE help and strategies.
Sitemaps

A Sitemap is a file that informs search engines about pages on your site. WorldSubmitter creates yours according to an open-source protocol accepted by major Search Engines. It is used to inform Google, Yahoo! and Ask about your site automatically (Windows Live/MSN will announce their procedure for this soon!). But first...

You must start the process by manually submitting your Sitemap. So please do read the help link below.

The URL of your Sitemap document is...
http://www.wellness-stress-management.com/5XOVIFZp.xml (last updated on Fri. Jul 13, 2007).

The following link contain important information on how to submit to each engine and get best results.

So, i am wondering; do i have to make a 'Sitemap' (= create a new page with all my links and put on with a button so it will end up in my tier 2) or are the links in the table of content doing right?

Bye!

RE: SBI HQ

Hi Yvonne,

YOU don't have to make a sitemap, SBI does it for you, In fact, it already exists. What YOU have to do is to tell Google where it is. How this is done is perfectly described in the Help link SBI provides. It tales a few steps and you should take half an hour or so to do it for all search engines. But apparently it is worth the while and helps SE's to index, keep up to date with your site and thus, build traffic.

Grtx, Bert

RE: SBI HQ

Hi Yvonne,

I know, this confused me as well. Though repetitive exposure works for me. Since everytime I built a page in SBI it kept displaying this message about submitting my sitemap to SE's, and I finally complied.
Given the success rate of SBI sites it can't be all that bad, was my thought.

RE: SBI HQ

Yeah, what I understand from SBI is that it has found the 'good' ways to inform the SE's of our existence. Especially the sitemap.

RE: SBI HQ

Yvonne,

This requires a manual effort from your side, but only once!

When you build your page you always get a screen with text on it, right?
Just follow the instructions step-by-step.

It's bit of a chore but everything is well explained by SBI. Not all steps are mandatory if I remember correctly (it's been a while and it was a once time effort).

You can do it :-) !!

Succes,
Barbara

RE: SBI HQ

Sitemap is important!

It's basically tells Google and other search engines what's going on with your site, what new content you have, and how important it is.

This is not the same as submitting your site to search engines.

Yes - you have to take action - ONCE - to make it happen.

By the way - SBI is the only host I'm aware of that does this automatically for you. YIPPEE!

In order to let the search engines know about your sitemap you have to go to your Search Engine HQ (in Site Central).

The first part of the page will give you detailed instructions you'll need to follow.

Success, Nisandeh

RE: SBI HQ and Google virus

Boy oh Boy!!

I am a little bit confused.....

During my explanation to Attila about how to use this great SBI-tool SBI HQ
i saw the search-results of my own page come along....

Is it because of the submitting i did yesterday regarding this sitemap-thing...
but i am very very confused to see the 'geld stress' topic appearing on the 8th row of Google!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

8 out of 2.150.000 suppliers out there.....i think Google failed and made a mistake....

Is there anyone who can tell me what i did wrong????
