Get traffic to your blog
Your blog is an important source of traffic to your SBI site (where you should monetize this traffic).
Make sure you get lots of traffic to your blog.
Here are some ideas:
Go to Yahoo Answers - type in your main keywords and look for relevant questions to your topic and then:
- Copy the question to your blog and answer it in detail.
- Summarize your answer and post the summery back in Yahoo Answers - where you got the question from.
- At the end of your answer add a link back to your blog post, with the words "for a more detailed answer, you might want to visit ..."
Submit your blog (as soon as you have regularly posted to it for a few months) to free directories.
Here are a few of the big ones:

There are hundreds of others, and you're welcome to add all the good ones, in reply to this thread.
Exchange links with related, great other blogs.
Just offer to put their link in your blogroll, if they do the same for you.
Let the best bloggers in your topic know whenever you post something they might find valuable to their readers.
Be courteous and generous in your feedback to them, and if they like your content - they'll link to you.
Don't hesitate to do the same for them.
...
Any other ideas?
Please post them as a reply to this thread.
To your online success, Nisandeh

RE: Get traffic to your blog
This works a bit differently from the directory list for the SBI site, as these blog directories often require a piece of code on your blog (link or widget). If you don't they will remove you from the listing.
Just where would be a good place to put them?
I'm now placing these at the bottom of the 'About me' page.

RE: Get traffic to your blog
i am really looking forward to posting and linking my site once it is big enough......could you write a few lines or does anyone have a standard text/script as to what is written when you submit your site to the directories and what you need to say to them? i presume we dont have to flatter anyone about how fabulous their directory is etc?!!
that would be helpful to have and i presume you can do our favourite trick of ''highlight, copy and paste'' with each email or is it easier and ok to submit it via the ''Bcc function'' in your email box so everyone is blind copied to the same email and you just press send once?? that would be great and very simple if anyone has done this or thinks it might be ok?
thanks in advance for any help
Kind regards

RE: Get traffic to your blog
Caroline,
Submitting your URL works differently for each directory. When you visit their site you look for a link called 'submit URL' or something like that and just follow instructions. No need to flatter any one, it's just a form that needs to be filled out.

RE: Get traffic to your blog
Thanks Nisandeh, I'll submit my blog to those sites.
Can anyone explain to me what exactly RSS is good for? Sites ask:
"RSS-feed URL: "
Should I give it?
What is the benefit?
And if I should give it, where can I find that RSS-URL of my blog?
Gr,
bentinho
