Doubting? Choose what turns YOU on!

I understand there are still a few people who have not yet fully started their website project. They are either still doing the research or they are doubting which subject to choose.

If you are doubting between multiple subjects, please take the one you like most! If your subject, especially for your first website, does not turn you on, you will never fill it up with content. If you choose a subject only because of the fact that brainstormer said it was the most profitable, but you don't like it at all, or not really, you won't stay motivated enough to work on the content.

Unless of course your only purpose is to make money with the website, and that reason alone motivates you enough to keep adding content and submitting to directories and doing all the side-work to get traffic.

If that is not the case, than I would highly recommend you to pick a subject you are most passionate about! It is very important for the content. Look at Barbara her website, she is passionate about dogs, that's for sure, I am passionate about yoga and meditation, that's for sure too. All content on my website is self-created, I didn't do any additional research, because I already know about it and I already love the subject.

You can write a webpage of 800-1000 words in about 15 minutes.! I cannot imagine the extra work and sacrifice it would take me to do that if I did not like the subject! All the extra research about something that doesn't turn me on.. I could not write so much content about something I did not really like. A webpage of similar size would then take me at least three hours, if not more. Plus, it creates frustration. You don't want that, especially not when you are a first timer. Your first impression should be a good one.

So go primarily for the creation of your content, go for what turns you on most!
What are you good at? what do you do in life, what is your attitude in life, your mind-set, what are your skills...

And if you really still don't know what subject to take, think about this one:

What have you already integrated so well into your life and every-day doing, that you don't even know that you are good at it? What has become your second nature? Discover those qualities, those subjects, and make your site about that, combined with the amazing tools provided by Nisandeh and SBI, a passionate subject will always be a success!

Love & Light

RE: Doubting? Choose what turns YOU on!

For the record: dogs do not turn me on Wink

And to avoid some people getting frustrated by this message where Benthino actually says he's writing a full page in only 15 minutes (well done!): A page on best-dog-food-guide takes me about 4 hours! This is because I knew close to nothing about dog food when I started out so I have to research this subject. Appears there is so much information... who could have guessed? But it takes effort and hard work. Lazy is for later.

But I am striving to become the expert. As a matter of fact.. I'm getting officially licenced to give advice about dog and cat food in october (if I pass the exam, that is).

When you are still struggling with the first five lessons (what is my subject, what is my site structure, what is my domain name), then realize this: (1) There is not a singular perfect subject, (2) In the course, and on SBI, there were 6 factors given on which you should base your decision (profitability being only one of them!) and (3) If you don't follow Nike's advice "Just do it!" you will never get to lesson 6 and never to lesson 10 (Monetize).

RE: Doubting? Choose what turns YOU on!

Hi,

I am also familiar with the phenomenon of not getting to a jump-start with my website after i followed the course of Nisandeh.

Enough content, good keyword, etc. etc. but i was having this enormous fear of writing out for an audience. The tought that other people could actually read my writings, it frightens the hell out of me.

Really, i couldn't get to sleep for several nights, stop eating and feeling pretty weird.

It can be a point of attention for our fellow-members as well, and it could be sometimes  very very difficult to express or explain. I am wondering how many of us are still struggling on their own out there. Not capable to register on the forum, so we can't reach out to them to give them the help they need....i think it is a pitty!

Other facts as the combination of time, energy and learning hours have also alot to do with it.

Sometimes we need a little help to get into action..

RE: Doubting? Choose what turns YOU on!

Well, what can I say?
Everybody has his/her own expertise. I admit that I truly think and research for hours every day before I start to write. I know what I want to write, I know a lot about chess ( Played since my 6th) but I can't explain. that's really irritating me. So, when something irritates me I stand up ... walk away and do something else. then I return and try again. It's always the same, over and over and over again. I have major great ideas but it's all in my brain and can't explain in human language so that other people understand what I try to explain. The first ten pages on my site took me over 1 weeks of intensive work. And that for 10 Pages! I admit that writing is really the worst thing for me. In school i always hated to write, Actually I've NEVER wrote so much before in my whole life on a paper as in the PIO course. ( in the PIO course I wrote like 15 pages or so ... just to give you an idea ) This is really no joke folks. Now I have to write like 200+ pages in English! Everybody has his/her own party piece, the things where they're good at. Some write 5 to 10 or even more quality content pages a day, that's really cool and respect for that. Once the content is there then I start to go like a rocket. I can feel it in my veins. That's what I've been doing for years now in one of the most competitive fields online that you can think of. I was always responsible for traffic. I love that part. traffic traffic traffic. However, this might be slightly different play but I ALWAYS find a solution. ALWAYS.

Hahah Barbara! Dogs don't turn you on, who would have guessed. Well people, it seems there are people that do have a lot of discipline even without the content turning you on. I know I don't got that kind of discipline, but that's very cool barbara. Goodluck with your graduation!

RE: Doubting? Choose what turns YOU on!

Benthino,

One of the six factors to take into account is whether the subject is sexy. You can say a lot about dog food but never that it is a sexy subject. Well... perhaps with the massive recall in the US, but that is an incident. Another factor was knowledge or passion about the subject and up untill then I was just feeding it no Kensho. Being pretty ignorant and just buying the more expensive food as I was thinking that was probably the best food (which isn't far from the truth).

But here's how it works....

When I start gaining knowledge and doing the research I discover new things or at least new to me. That's what I like about research. I get into a flow of wanting to learn more, then share it by writing it down. And that's the part where the passion is. I can do it about more subjects than I'm actually interested in from the start. It's the discovery of new knowledge where my passion is. So that also applies to knowledge about dog's kibble.

And there is no way of getting into any flow if one does not take action, so starting something is always the best first step.

I see, well then your passion lies in research indeed, and that is what brings you the motivation to keep atit. Impressive.

RE: Doubting? Choose what turns YOU on!

Perhaps a nice anecdote to share as it relates to how I chose my subject 'dog food':

I was struggling. I came prepared to the PIO course though when looking at supply, demand and monetization options my ideas all went to the recycle bin. Then I started looking at a niche within pets and came up with dog food. Not sexy was my first thought. When I then started looking at the competition I wanted to throw away this subject as well. I don't feel like doing something that has been done before and I saw such a nice complete successful site about dog food that I lost motivation. So I started to think of a site about dog food but with a different angle than the competition and I went to Google and typed 'dog food trends'.

In the top 10 hits there was an yearly international pet food congress. Last year it was in Chicago, Illinois.. so a bit far. And I got excited as this was just what I was looking for to get my own angle on this topic. I went to see where and when it would be held this year, and guess what. It was a week from that date, location de Jaarbeurs Utrecht, 15 carminutes away, topic 'new products, new developments'. And there and then I decided that it was the right direction and so dog food it was. Next year is in Asia by the way. Me enlisting for the Financial Freedom training was also because of such a 'this is too much of a coincidence thing and I have to just follow up on it'.
